John Casey

As a chef, my greatest thrill is seeing the difference food can make to people’s lives.   

My professional career began with a cooking apprenticeship at one of Melbourne’s iconic five-star hotels, the Southern Cross. During this time, I was very honoured to represent Australia at the Culinary Olympics in Germany winning the Gold medal. Since then, I have enjoyed 30 years of experience working with celebrated chefs, such as Stephanie Alexander, and elite athletes, such as Cathy Freeman. My work has seen me behind the kitchens of many renowned Hotels, Private Clubs and highly awarded restaurants around the world. 

Throughout these varied and wonderful experiences, I’ve nurtured a passion for innovation in food quality and nutrition. In 2009, I co-founded Dineamic Australia, a healthy solution to ready-made meals, born from a shared vision between myself, former professional footballer Jason Johnson, and leading sports dietitian Karen Inge. 

In recent years John worked with Retirement and aged care organisations, nationally managing the foodservice for one of Australia’s largest retirement companies to champion the change of industry perceptions on food service in this sector and to deliver new standards in food quality and nutrition. 

Live Life Foods is my new venture to drive innovation with a Food First approach to good food and nutrition specialising in new product development and concept creation in food service focusing on the Retirement Living and Aged Caring Sector.
